Scientists Develop Drug Inducible Switch to Regulate Gene Therapy
As researchers develop innovative methods to deliver gene therapy, one problem remains - the protein output. Post-delivery,
scientists have no control over how much protein the new gene will produce. Too little, the treatment would be ineffective, and too much and the protein can turn toxic for the recipient. To address this, researchers at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) have devised a switch that can be turned on with a drug.
